Our Forest Concession Is Lowland Dipterocarp Forest Type

The dipterocarp forest occurs on dryland from just above sea level to an altitude of about 900 metres. The term ‘dipterocarp forests’is come from the Dipterocarpaceaefamily, hardwood trees that occur in tropical forests which mostly dominated forest in Malaysia. Term of tropical lowland forest is used to describe forest that has little or no seasonal water shortage and where the climate is continuously warm and humid (can reach 100% at night).


This forest type known as most complex, dense and species-rich forests in the world. It has great value for wildlife conservation and scientific research. There are more than 5,000 species of tree and plant forms, as well as a diverse range of animal and insect species. These including enadagered, endemic and yet to be discovered and studied species

There are 3 canopy layer which are upper

  • Upper layer towers (30 to 40 m), with occasional giants (60 m)
  • The second layer (23 to 30 m).
  • The lower level (small trees and herbs)
